"The action, the disappointed or thwarted loves, the very exaggerated but at the same time limpid and simple excesses collide without ever prevailing over a cheap philosophy bordering on indecency. The new opera has arrived!!"

"The Sentinels are part of the history of opera, a bit like the works of Giancarlo Menotti did after the war. Slices of daily life and resolutely contemporary, offering beautiful portraits of women (here four from different generations) (...)
The approach seems to have touched the public, and there is no doubt that for the covers, the youth will recognize themselves in a vibrant way. In short, Sentinels to watch closely!

Sentinels speaks of humans filled with hope who seek how to love for a long time what lasts only an instant, of those who seek to make several loves coexist, and of those for whom the experience of loneliness would become a comfort in the absence of of a happy life for two or more. Because beyond love failures, each figure in the work wonders about the consequences of faulty communication, the social impossibility of building new models of common life, and the reconciliation of desire and responsibilities.
Sentinels traces four moments in life, four charachters of women who fight to find their place in the face of social diktats and the sacrifices imposed on them.

"Dans des temps futurs, puissent cette œuvre aller raconter certaines affres et problématiques de l'amour au début du XXIème siècle, comme Carmen ou La Traviata le font aujourd'hui pour d'autres époques. Il existe dans Les Sentinelles une forme de continuité en termes d'héritage sur ce qui s'est fait par le passé sur le thème de l'amour."
